L.R Symm Lawsuit – January 14th, 1972

Prairie View A&M students were told by the County Tax Collector, L.R. Symm, that they did not qualify to register in the county. They would file a lawsuit against Symm for violating their voting rights as students. Symm’s questionnaire was an attempt to disenfranchise student voters on PVAMU’s campus to diminish the black vote in Waller County.
